General Product Description
Miilux Wear Resistant Steels are dimensionally accurate, ready for use as component parts and wear resistant sheets. In the production of component parts, homogeneous hardness is provided in the whole part by using edge-to-edge hardening technology.
It offers excellent design solutions in wear parts such as crushers, excavators, mining machinery wear parts, damper bodies, bulldozer blade, chute-feeders and so on. By using Miilux 400 against friction and wear, high service life is achieved compared to conventional materials. Additionally, it reduces body weight and increases load capacity by allowing the use of thinner material. It shows positive cutting and welding behavior in the production.
Miilux 400; it is supplied in order thickness of 4.00-60.00 mm and hardness range of 370-460 HBW.

Tolerances
“EN 10029” or “EN 10051” standards are applied in dimensional tolerances.
EN 10029 Class A tolerances are guaranteed for thickness*.
The thickness measurement of the cut-edge boards is made from a minimum of 25 mm from the edge and from any point.
The thickness measurement of the boards whose edges are not cut is made from a minimum of 40 mm inside the edges and from any point.
EN 10029 Class N, Steel Type H tolerances are guaranteed for planarity.
*Narrowed Miilux tolerances are targeted.
Surface Condition
EN 10163-2 (Class B, Subclass 3) standard is guaranteed for the surface defects.
The surface of the Steel Plates is sandblasted according to ISO 8501-1 Sa 2½ quality.
Unless otherwise specified, shop primer is applied to Miilux products, which has been specially developed in order to provide very high welding and cutting speed after the sandblasting, with very low welding porosity and very low burning rate in the reverse area.
The shop primer protects the structure against atmospheric corrosion during the storage. It is applied at a thickness of 15-25 microns (these values are specified for a smooth test panel).
The paint type, which is used, has a performance suitable for the processes of welding and cutting.
Marking is done with Punch.

Brinell hardness test is applied on every armour steel in accordance with EN ISO 6506-1 principles. If the thickness of the hardness measurement area is thinner than 4.75 mm, the 5/750 HBW measurement method is used. For other thicknesses, the 10/3000 HBW method is used.
Hardness tests are performed at a depth of 0.50 – 1.00 mm from the steel surface, on the machined surface.
Charpy V-Notch Impact Test is applied in perpendicular and parallel directions to the rolling direction in all castings and thickness* in accordance with EN ISO 148-1 principles. For products thinner than 11.00 mm nominal thickness, sub-size samples are used. The determined minimum impact value is then proportional to the test specimen’s cross-sectional area. (*in order thickness of 6.00 mm and thicker armour steel)
Order-specific test requests should be discussed with Miilux Sales team at the order stage.
Processing
Miilux products can be machined using high speed tool steels (HSS) with the appropriate combination of machining tool speed and feed rate, resulting in a satisfactory service life.
Cold Forming
Sharp transition angles should be avoided as much as possible when cold forming the Miilux products. In addition, the importance of the condition of the equipment used in the operations, the operation plan and good workshop practices should be taken into the consideration. The Cold Forming limits table is given below.
